Bangladesh Embroidery Manufacturer and Exporter Association (BEMEA) were established in the year of 1998 in Hotel Abokash.Mohakhali with 39 members forming a convening and founding committee. Later in 20 July in 1999 held in first Annual General Meeting at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. Mr.M.A Mannan presided over the meeting as a president in convening committee.  In the year of 2000, BEMEA got registration from Ministry of Commerce and joint stock companies of People’s Republic of Bangladesh. In addition, it gained membership in “A” categorically from The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI). BEMEA is a only and one representing association in the Embroidery sector in Bangladesh. More than 500,000 People are working in these industries with the investment 6,000 million US dollars. Its foreign exchange earning amount about 1.50 million US dollars. Embroidery is   decorative stitches, which play vital role on the garments to enhance its properties or advertise the brand of the garments for value addition. Therefore, BEMEA works with its upmost hard effort to create the design, beautification attraction and ornamentation to make demand on garments with adding value to enhance the garments price at the end.
